The Dover Motor Speedway is bringing some new attractions, and some old fan favorites, this summer.

This summer, NASCAR fans at Dover Motor Speedway will be transported to the sandy shores of Delaware’s iconic beach towns without ever leaving the track.

In celebration of the upcoming NASCAR tripleheader weekend, Dover Motor Speedway, in partnership with Visit Delaware, will debut a new attraction: “Miles Beach.”

This beach-themed experience will be located in the Fan Zone throughout the race weekend, set for July 18-20.

Spanning over one acre of the Fan Zone, Miles Beach promises to offer visitors a fun-filled, family-friendly experience with dozens of beach-inspired activities, many of which are free to enjoy. The beach-themed event will kick off on Thursday, July 17, with a special welcome party for campers, followed by three days of entertainment, activities, and NASCAR festivities.

Among the highlights, fans can expect to see 600 tons of sand transformed into a true beach experience, complete with palm trees, beach balls, Adirondack chairs, vintage cars, and a 25-foot-tall lighthouse.

A replica of a classic Delaware beach boardwalk will greet visitors at the entrance, offering a taste of the state’s famous coastal communities.

A major crowd-pleaser will be the return of the world’s largest rubber duck.

Standing 60 feet tall and weighing 15.5 tons, the giant yellow duck will make its return to the Monster Mile, offering fans a prime photo op.

“The Delaware Tourism Office is excited to partner on Miles Beach, presented by Visit Delaware, with the Speedway,” said Jessica Welch, director of the Delaware Tourism Office. “While visiting Miles Beach, fans will be immersed in the summer-themed atmosphere of the Delaware beaches, reminding them of what Delaware’s six different beach towns have to offer and encouraging them to return to Delaware in the future and explore our beautiful state.”

For those seeking entertainment beyond the beach, the White Lightning Bar + Arcade will feature a full bar and classic arcade games, providing a nostalgic hangout for fans throughout the weekend. Guests can also indulge in a variety of beach-themed foods, including Delaware’s famous orange crushes, crispy boardwalk fries, and Dolle’s saltwater taffy.

The Miles Beach Stage will be the hub of live performances, with music and appearances from NASCAR drivers, celebrities, and local performers.

The weekend will feature a mix of bands such as the Mariachi Arrieros Band, the Trinidad North Steel Drum Band, and the Red Hot Ramblers, with additional performances to be announced.

A huge sand sculpture will be created on-site by a talented artist, with a completed masterpiece to be revealed on Sunday.

Fans can also visit a free caricature artist for custom drawings and participate in the Dunk Tank, benefitting the Speedway Children’s Charities, Dover Motor Speedway chapter.

In addition to all the excitement at Miles Beach* NASCAR fans will have the chance to explore Delaware’s beaches and attractions.

Dover Motor Speedway and Visit Delaware will offer two free shuttles per day to Rehoboth Beach and the Delaware State Fair in Harrington. These shuttles provide fans with the perfect opportunity to experience the best of Delaware’s summer hot spots before returning to the track in time for the race.

“Miles Beach, presented by Visit Delaware, gives all of NASCAR Nation a chance to experience a taste of what makes First State summers so special,” said Mike Tatoian, Dover Motor Speedway’s president and general manager. “We hope all of our fans will hang out with the Miles Beach Patrol, dip their toes in the sand and enjoy some iconic Delaware tunes and treats before and after enjoying America’s best racing at the Monster Mile in July!”

Fans interested in pre-registering for the free shuttle service can visit Dover Motor Speedway’s website for more details and to reserve their spot.
