Delaware to host 4th Annual Statewide Career Fair April 9

DOVER — The Delaware Department of Human Resources (DHR) is set to host the 4th Annual Statewide Career Fair on Wednesday, April 9, at the Smyrna Readiness Center, offering a prime opportunity for students and job seekers to connect with state agencies and explore careers in public service.

The career fair will feature a wide variety of job opportunities from Delaware’s Executive Branch agencies, the Delaware National Guard, the Judicial Branch, and school districts across the state.

High school students, college graduates, and job seekers will have the chance to meet with recruiters, network, and learn more about rewarding careers in state government.

“This year’s Statewide Career Fair is poised to be our largest yet,” said Yvonne Anders Gordon, Secretary of the Delaware Department of Human Resources. “We are excited to give students and job seekers the chance to discover meaningful careers within Delaware’s state agencies and contribute to the success of our state.”

Governor Matt Meyer emphasized the importance of building a diverse and talented workforce for the state’s future. “Delaware’s success depends on a strong workforce,” he said. “This event offers an invaluable opportunity to connect job seekers with fulfilling careers while serving our communities.”

The event will be broken into several sessions to accommodate various groups, including high school students, college students, and the general public. High school students will have dedicated time slots from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., while the general public can attend from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.

The readiness center is located at 103 Artisan Drive.

The career fair schedule

  • Time: 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.
    • High School Session #1: 9 a.m. – 10 a.m.
    • High School Session #2: 10 a.m. – 11 a.m.
    • High School Session #3 / College Power Hour: 11 a.m. – 12 p.m.
    • General Public: 12 p.m. – 3 p.m.

Spanish and American Sign Language (ASL) interpreters will be available on-site to assist attendees. To make the check-in process easier, participants are encouraged to pre-register online.

The career fair will also offer valuable networking opportunities, on-site interviews, and guidance on navigating the state government application process. For more information or to pre-register, visit statejobs.delaware.gov.
