BioConnect DE, a new initiative designed to support Delaware’s expanding life sciences industry, officially launched this week.
The platform serves as a central hub connecting job seekers, employers, and training programs to advance career pathways in biosciences. Supported by the Delaware Center for Life Science Education and Training, BioConnect DE is a nonprofit created by the Delaware BioScience Association.
The launch of BioConnect DE follows last year’s announcement of several new programs and investments aimed at developing a pipeline of science and technology talent.

The platform’s website, www.bioconnectde.org, is the go-to resource for job seekers and employers in the state’s life sciences sector.
It will continue to evolve as new initiatives and opportunities are introduced to support Delaware’s leadership in biosciences.
One of the platform’s major initiatives is the Biomanufacturing Training Program, which aims to equip individuals with the necessary skills for high-demand roles in Delaware’s life sciences sector.
The 8-week, tuition-free course prepares participants for positions in manufacturing and operations, focusing on areas such as quality management systems, metrology, workplace safety, and good documentation practices.
The program was developed with input from local employers and national experts, ensuring students gain the skills required by the industry.
Applications for the first cohort, starting in May 2025, are now open through BioConnect DE’s website.
Classes will be held at the Chemours STEM Hub at East Side Charter School in Wilmington.
BioConnect DE is also spearheading the STEM Talent Advancement and Retention (STAR) Fund, which provides up to $6,000 in financial support to recent STEM graduates working for Delaware employers.
This initiative, in collaboration with the Delaware Division of Small Business, aims to help reduce student debt and encourage graduates from institutions like Delaware Technical Community College, Delaware State University, and the University of Delaware to remain in the state.

By easing financial burdens, the STAR Fund seeks to attract and retain top talent in Delaware’s thriving science, technology, engineering, and mathematics sectors.

The launch of BioConnect DE represents a significant milestone for Delaware’s life sciences sector. As the platform grows, the BioConnect DE team will continue to collaborate with key industry stakeholders to ensure that the programs and resources are accessible to communities across Delaware.
