The Delaware Army National Guard is set to host the 2025 Tuskegee Airmen Commemoration Day Expo on Saturday, March 29 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Delaware Army National Guard Aviation Support Facility at the Wilmington Airport.
The free event celebrates the historic legacy of the Tuskegee Airmen and aims to inspire the next generation of aviation and STEM professionals.
The Tuskegee Airmen were a group of Black pilots, navigators, bombardiers, and ground crew who served during World War II. They are best known for being the first Black military aviators in the history of the United States Armed Forces.
“This event honors a legacy that continues to inspire,” said Thomas J. Cook, executive director of the Delaware River and Bay Authority. “It is vital that we continue to tell the story of the Tuskegee Airmen to inspire future leaders and professionals.”

Building on the success of its inaugural event in 2024, this year’s expo promises to expand its reach with a wider variety of activities and opportunities.
Attendees will have the chance to explore careers in aviation, aerospace, and STEM fields through hands-on workshops, immersive historical exhibits, and interactive experiences.
The event will feature flight simulations, drone technology demonstrations, and presentations on sustainable aviation fuels, highlighting the cutting-edge innovations shaping the future of aviation.
Historical exhibits and guest speakers will honor the contributions of the Tuskegee Airmen.
Delaware’s rich aviation heritage and its role in shaping the nation’s air travel landscape make it the perfect location for this commemorative event, event organizers state.
Industry leaders, including aviation experts, military personnel, and STEM professionals, will be on hand to network with students and aspiring professionals.
The event also serves as an excellent opportunity for educators and students to learn more about career paths in the aviation and aerospace industries.
