The Delaware Forest Service will host its 10th Annual Arborist and Tree Care Seminar on April 7-8 at Delaware Park Raceway & Casino in Wilmington.
This specialized seminar is designed to provide valuable professional development for those working in urban forestry and tree care, focusing on sustainable practices that enhance Delaware’s urban forests.
The event will feature two full days of presentations from experts in the field, covering topics such as tree cabling and bracing, climbing techniques, structural tree pruning, tree removal strategies, invasive species mitigation, and native plant law.
Attendees will also have the chance to network with fellow forestry professionals and industry vendors.

With up to 11 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) available from the International Society of Arboriculture, along with up to 5 Delaware pesticide credits, this seminar offers the largest number of CEUs provided at a Delaware Forest Service event.
“The Arborist and Tree Care Seminar is an exceptional opportunity for arborists and tree care professionals to expand their knowledge and skills,” said Taryn Davidson, urban and community forestry coordinator for the Delaware Forest Service. “By offering this event, we’re helping to support the growth of sustainable tree care practices and ultimately contribute to the health of Delaware’s urban forests.”
This year’s seminar will feature a lineup of distinguished speakers, including Mark Chisholm from Aspen Tree STHIL, Brian Kunkle of the University of Delaware, Vinnie Cotrone from Penn State Extension, Trent Dicks from Arbor Jet, and several other industry leaders.
Vendor exhibits will also be on-site, providing additional networking opportunities.
Registration for the event is now open, and participants can choose to attend one or both days.
The cost for the full seminar is $125, which includes breakfast and lunch.
