Dommel was nominated by a patient recovering from knee replacement surgery, who credited her with making a significant impact on their hospital stay.
“Her professionalism, kindness, compassion, and humor made a significant difference,” the patient wrote in their nomination.
“She answered all my questions, offered words of encouragement, and continuously put a smile on my face when she came into my room to check my vitals.”
The patient praised Dommel’s efforts in creating a welcoming hospital environment.
“It is because of techs like Barb that hospitals feel more comforting, and patients feel more at ease during what is often a stressful time.”
