The Delaware charter school community is coming together Friday, March 14.
More than 500 educators, administrators, and leaders from Delaware’s charter school community will convene at Las Américas ASPIRA Academy’s K-8 campus for the third annual CharterCon, hosted by the Delaware Charter Schools Network.
This year’s conference, themed “Creating a Culture of Literacy,” will emphasize the pivotal role literacy plays in student success.

The event will feature a lineup of distinguished speakers and presenters, including Delaware Governor Meyer, Secretary of Education Cindy Marten, University of Delaware’s Faith Muirhead, and SIBME’s Chief Operating Officer TJ Hoffman.
Kendall Massett, Executive Director of DCSN, expressed excitement about the conference’s return, stating, “We are honored to welcome such an incredible group of speakers and attendees. Literacy is foundational to student achievement, and this conference will allow us to explore how we can continue to improve literacy and other essential learning skills.”
Throughout the day, attendees will delve into a range of important topics, including AI literacy, numeracy, environmental literacy, and leadership’s critical role in fostering strong educational environments.
The conference serves as a platform for charter school educators, paraprofessionals, service providers, and school leaders to share best practices, collaborate, and learn from one another.
“At the heart of our mission is the belief that literacy is foundational to student success,” Massett said. “When we collaborate and share our expertise, we can better serve our students and families, ensuring that every child is literate, capable, and prepared for the world beyond school.”
The conference is a unique opportunity for Delaware’s charter school community to engage in meaningful discussions, exchange innovative ideas, and celebrate the transformative work happening in schools across the state and beyond.
