Avelo Airlines is adding more travel options for passengers at Philadelphia’s Wilmington Airport (ILG) with the new nonstop routes to Jacksonville, Florida, and Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina.

The airline, which has been serving the region since 2021, will operate the new routes starting in May, making Avelo the only carrier offering direct flights to these destinations from ILG.

The Jacksonville service will begin on May 23, with flights scheduled twice a week on Mondays and Fridays.

Flights to Raleigh-Durham will launch a day earlier, on May 22, with service available on Thursdays and Sundays.

Both routes will be operated using Avelo’s Boeing Next-Generation 737 aircraft, with one-way fares starting at just $39.

“ILG – We’re growing again! We are proud to announce more travel options to the Greater Philadelphia and Delaware Valley region,” said Avelo Airlines Founder and CEO Andrew Levy in a statement. “This service makes visiting North Carolina’s Research Triangle and northeast Florida easier than ever. For over two years, we’ve inspired travel with affordable, convenient, and reliable service at ILG, and these new routes show our continued commitment to this region.”

Both cities are known for their unique offerings, providing visitors with a wide range of activities.

Jacksonville, the largest city in Northeast Florida, boasts miles of beautiful beaches, eco-adventures, rich history, and a vibrant dining scene. It’s a perfect destination for families, adventure seekers, and culture enthusiasts alike.

Raleigh-Durham, also known as the Research Triangle, is renowned for its academic and research institutions, including Duke University, North Carolina State University, and the University of North Carolina. The region is also home to award-winning dining, cultural attractions, and outdoor activities.

Avelo’s growth

Avelo Airlines has made Wilmington Airport a key hub in its network, now offering nonstop flights to 14 destinations, including Myrtle Beach, San Juan, and several cities across Florida. The airline has become a favorite for travelers in the Delaware Valley, known for its ease of access, affordable fares, and excellent service.

Tom Cook, Executive Director of the Delaware River and Bay Authority (DRBA), which operates ILG, expressed his enthusiasm for Avelo’s growth at the airport.

“We’re pleased that Avelo Airlines continues to add to its flight schedule at Wilmington Airport – ILG,” he said. “We look forward to the successful launch of both the Jacksonville and Raleigh-Durham routes, providing more options for travelers in the region.”
