WILMINGTON – For the first time, Delawareans have a day dedicated to celebrating the First State.
Governor Matt Meyer is inviting Delawareans to join the inaugural 302 Day event, a new tradition aimed at fostering community pride and connection across the state.
The event will take place Sunday, March 2 from noon to 3:02 p.m. at EastSide Charter School in Wilmington.
Named after Delaware’s 302 area code, which covers the entire state, 302 Day will feature a variety of activities and opportunities to engage with state agencies and local organizations.

The event aims to bring together families and individuals to celebrate Delaware’s unique character, learn about valuable state resources, and enjoy a day of fellowship, fun, and entertainment.
“302 Day is a chance to bring our community together, celebrate what makes Delaware special, and connect families with important resources,” Meyer said. “I encourage everyone to come out, enjoy some music and food, and spend time with neighbors and friends.”
The event will offer opportunities to meet with representatives from multiple state agencies, including the Department of Labor, the Department of Education, the Department of Transportation, and more. Local nonprofits, such as the Delaware Nurses Association, Rodel, and the Metropolitan Wilmington Urban League, will also participate, providing valuable resources and support for Delaware families.
Attendees can enjoy live entertainment by DJ Tim Dogg, local food trucks, and a variety of family-friendly activities.
Participants can also learn more about state programs aimed at strengthening communities and supporting individuals across Delaware.
The event is open and free to all Delawareans, and registration is available in advance here or on the day of the event.
