After going through a warmup session on the field today, Eagles center Cam Jurgens is officially active for the NFC championship game, but he may not start. A source told The Inquirer’s Jeff McLane that Jurgens was not expected to play.
The Eagles left Jurgens off their list of inactive players, which was due 90 minutes before kickoff against the Washington Commanders.
Jurgens, who only practiced Friday in a limited capacity, went through a few drills on the field. General manager Howie Roseman was watching closely toward the end of Jurgens’ warmup, and then gave Tyler Steen a pat on the leg as Roseman walked off the field.
Jurgens wasn’t far behind Roseman getting off the field. He may only be available today in a backup or emergency role.
As soon as Jurgens walked off, Landon Dickerson was on the field taking snaps. He will likely slide over from the left guard spot and Steen will likely start at left guard.
Dickerson has played very little center in the NFL, but it was his primary position during his senior year at Alabama.
Jurgens made the Pro Bowl in his first season after taking over for Jason Kelce. Him potentially being out is a big loss for the Eagles, although Washington is without defensive tackle Daron Payne because of injuries.
The Eagles’ inactive players for Sunday are: Tanner McKee (emergency quarterback); cornerback Eli Ricks; defensive back Lewis Cine; offensive lineman Nick Gates; offensive lineman Darian Kinnard; guard Trevor Keegan; and wide receiver Ainias Smith.
