State Police detectives arrest Ellendale man for theft of campers

Delaware State Police have arrested 39-year-old Leon Leager of Ellendale for theft and related charges related to theft of pull-behind campers.

On January 12, 2025, at approximately 11:20 a.m., troopers responded to the 10000 block of Blacksmith Shop Road in Greenwood, for a reported theft of two campers. During the investigation, troopers learned that on January 10, an unknown suspect, driving a black pick-up, stole a 28-foot Keystone Kodiak camper from the property. It was also learned that on January 11, an unknown suspect, driving a black pick-up, stole a 32-foot Prowler camper from the same property. Detectives identified Leon Leager as the suspect in the thefts and located the Prowler camper that was damaged after the theft. Detectives continue their ongoing efforts to locate the stolen Keystone Kodiak camper (pictured below) and are requesting the public’s assistance with any information about its whereabouts.

On January 15, 2025, Leager was arrested and taken to Troop 4, charged, arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2, and released on a $10,150 unsecured bond.

Delaware State Police Troop 4 Criminal Investigations Unit continues its investigation and urges anyone who has information about the location of the stolen camper to contact Detective K.
