DOVER — Junior Liliana DiMarco led the Padua Pandas to a 47-31 road win over the Dover Senators Saturday night.
DiMarco led the Pandas’ commanding victory with 18 points.
When asked what led to her success, DiMarco said, “I was just feeling it, and I wanted to get my points up, so I did.”
DiMarco didn’t have it easy in this game because she had to guard Dover’s Sara Zionna Benson on the defensive end, as the two battled in the paint all night.
Benson ended up with 15 points for the Senators, but she didn’t get them without some tough defense from Demarco.
“She was tough,” DeMarco said after the game. “She’s a really good post player, but I kept my composure and just tried to stick with her. “
The Pandas took the early 6-4 lead in the first quarter and just continued to build that lead throughout the game. They took an eight-point lead into halftime with the score 22-14. They grew that lead in the third quarter to 20, 38-18 score. That deficit proved too much for Dover as Padua came away with the 47-31 win.
