Wilmington Mayor Carney picks leadership team

The 58th mayor of the city of Wilmington and previous governor of the First State, John Carney, has picked his leadership team.

His selections were announced Friday, and include employees in the departmental and office leadership that will help guide policy decisions and the delivery of city programs and services during the new administration.

Here’s who will be on Carney’s leadership team: 

  • Chief of the Police Department: Wilfredo Campos
  • Chief of the Fire Department: John Looney
  • Director of the Office of Cultural Affairs: Tina Betz
  • Commissioner of the Department of Licenses and Inspections: Gabe Pabon
  • City Solicitor of the Law Department: Robert Goff
  • Director of the Department of Finance: Brett Taylor
  • Commissioner of the Department of Public Works: Kelly Williams
  • Acting Director of the Department of Land Use and Planning: Elliott Larkin
  • Director of the Office of Economic Development: Sean Park
  • Director of the Department of Human Resources: Charlotte Barnes
  • Acting Director of the Department of Parks and Recreation: Melody Phillips
  • Director of the Department of Real Estate and Housing: Bob Weir
  • City Auditor, Audit Department: Terence Williams

“As mayor, I look forward to having the opportunity to work more closely with constituents,” Carney said in a news release. “I am excited to be able to rely on an experienced and talented group of individuals to help me manage and improve city government.”
