Villanova women to host UConn in a sold-out arena

In a Big East battle on Sunday, Villanova women’s basketball (7-7, 1-1 Big East) will take on one of its most highly anticipated opponents on its home court, in front of a packed home arena.

The Wildcats announced Saturday that their game against No. 7 UConn (12-2, 3-0 Big East) at Finneran Pavilion (1:30 p.m., SNY) is sold out, marking the second sellout in program history. The first was also against the Huskies, on Feb. 17, 2023. The Pavilion has a capacity of 6,501.

“The atmosphere we’ve created here is tremendous and I’m so appreciative of the fan support,” said Wildcats coach Denise Dillon. “When we bring UConn in, we’re going to rely on our fan base to keep it loud. But general basketball fans will want to come out and see them as well. It’s always good to have that atmosphere against a top team.”
