The Dover Police Department is investigating the shooting death of 14-year-old Juwan Walker, of Dover. Walker was shot on Christmas Eve on Willis Road and had been receiving treatment at Nemours Hospital in New Castle County since the incident.
Tragically, on December 27, 2024 he died as result of the injuries he sustained during the shooting.
The Dover Police Department is seeking information on this case and encourages anyone with information to contact the Department at 302-736-7130. Callers may remain anonymous. Narrative: The Dover Police Department is investigating a shooting that seriously injured a 14-year-old male of Dover on Tuesday night. The investigation began at 6:50 p.m., when Dover Police received a call from Bayhealth Kent Campus, reporting that a 14-year-old male was at the hospital and had a gunshot wound to his upper body. Due to the nature of his injuries, the victim was flown to a New Castle County Hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
The ensuing investigation revealed that the victim was sitting in a parked vehicle on Willis Road, just north of North Little Creek Road when two black males approached the vehicle. One of the suspects then fired several rounds at the vehicle, striking the victim, and left the area on foot. The victim was transported to Bayhealth Kent Campus in a privately owned vehicle.
There are currently no leads to provide and the circumstances surrounding this shooting remain under investigation.
