‘Here to support Kamala Harris': Springsteen, Obama, Legend rally in Philadelphia

Beloved New Jersey native and superstar Bruce Springsteen crossed over the Delaware River to stump for Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris in Philadelphia with Election Day quickly approaching.

“The Boss” was joined by former President Barack Obama and fellow musician John Legend in the City of Brotherly Love to show support for Vice President Harris with a concert and rally at the Liacouras Center on North Broad Street on Monday, Oct. 28.

“There’s no place I’d rather be tonight at this crucial moment in our nation’s history,” Legend — a University of Pennsylvania alum — said at the rally. “She knows there is something fundamental at stake in this election—freedom is at stake in this election.”

A star-studded rally and concert is taking place on Temple University’s campus at the Liacouras Center. John Legend performed ahead of Bruce Springsteen and former President Barack Obama is also in attendance and will be speaking. Monday’s campaign event was Springsteen’s second rally for Harris.

“I’m Bruce Springsteen and I’m here to support Kamala Harris and Tim Walz…and oppose Donald Trump and JD Vance,” Springsteen said on stage at the rally.

Obama closed the rally with his remarks.

“We know this election is going to be tight it shouldn’t be, but it will be because a lot of Americans are still struggling,” he said.

Obama also addressed Former President Donald Trump’s rally in New York Sunday night where a comedian made derogatory comments about Puerto Rico.

 “These are Americans, they are people,” he said.

The Trump campaign said the comments do not represent the views of Trump or the campaign.

“Glitzy celebrities and presidents of yesteryear aren’t going to make up for a mediocre message, disastrous record, and less-than-appealing candidate,” the Trump campaign said in response to Harris’ rally in Philly Monday night.

What exactly is the event?

The event is part of the “When We Vote We Win” concert series that pushes for residents in swing states, like Pennsylvania, to vote early.

President Obama recently took to his Instagram account and shared that the When We Vote We Win tour was in Nevada. He also urged everyone to vote and to help their family and friends vote too.
