Narrative: The Dover Police Department is investigating an attempted robbery that took place Monday afternoon in the gravel parking lot south of the Pitts Center. The investigation began at 2:17 p.m., when Officers were dispatched to the area of Schutte Park for suspicious activity. Officers responded and contacted the victim, who advised that while they were eating lunch in the parking lot, a black male, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, and black pants approached their vehicle holding a baseball bat. The suspect then threatened the victim and demanded they turn over their vehicle. The victim was able to flee the area and contact Police.
Officers checked the area for the suspect with negative results.
There are no additional leads at this time.
